Born and raised in Wellington, New Zealand and after completing a 9000
hour apprenticeship in sheetmetal engineering, metal shaping and forming,
I moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1986. Upon arrival, I worked on certain hotrods and with
designers on concept cars for most of the late 1980’s. During that time, I learned more
about shaping and continued to develop the skill of forming aluminum and various
metal car bodies. In the 1990’s, I became involved in restoring old Ferraris, Masartis,
Lamborghinis and Cobras with some of the older craftsmen of the 1950’s. Ten years ago,
I opened a little shop in Bellflower, CA / Palmer Coachworks where I build and restore
Ferrari bodies for the 1960’s, customize Rolls Royces, and build Cobras for the likes of Shelby,
Aston Martins among other exotic cars such as Chaparrals, Iso Grifos, ATS’s, Lancias,
Zagatos, Montverdis and Jensens.
I have also done body and paint work for the GT Class at
Pebble Beach and taken 1st place.
