Who we are

Born and raised in New Zealand in the South Pacific, I completed a 9,000-hour, four-and-a-half-year apprenticeship in sheet metal engineering and fabrication.

In 1986, I immigrated to the United States, where I continued to develop my career in coach building and metal shaping. I had the privilege of working alongside some of the most talented and respected craftsmen in the field, including Mike McCluskey of McCluskey Ltd., “Mr. Cobra” Lynn Park, Denis Ercek of Ercek Enterprises, racecar legends Carroll Shelby and Don Roberts. During this time, I became deeply involved in the world of race cars and hot rods, contributing to projects such as Vince Granatelli’s IndyCar and Michael Andretti’s IndyCar. I also expanded my expertise in aluminum coach building at Kimmins Coachcraft, where I restored and built original Cobras.

In the 1990s, I worked closely with Bill DeCarr at Bill’s Body Shop Restoration in Bellflower, California where we restored and coach built classic Ferraris, Maseratis, and Lamborghinis, among others. Through Bill DeCarr, I was introduced to legendary custom painter Larry Watson and the renowned custom car builder George Barris.

In 1997 I founded a restoration and coach‑building shop in Bellflower, California, earning two First‑Place GT‑class awards at Pebble Beach and a Best of Show at The Quail Lodge. For the past decade, I have operated that same business in Sun Valley, upholding the same exacting standards.
